Doubt that IBT could be paying for all of its hiring and real estate with nothing more than the ads it serves to 13 million readers has been fueled by reports of the founders’ close ties to Korean religious leader David Jang, Olivet University and the World Evangelical Alliance. The fact that neither Uzac nor Etienne had any background in news, media or publishing before starting the site also seemed odd. While they’ve acknowledged some business connections, Uzac and Davis have repeatedly denied, to me and to other reporters, that anyone but them has an ownership stake in IBT Media.
I imagine this conflict is going to be over relatively quickly, and then depending on how it goes followed up by “another” much longer conflict, just like America’s quick victory in Iraq.
The population of Ukraine is over 40million. Assume 3/4 loyal to the country, and a conservative 10% of those take up arms, that’s 3 million armed guerillas. That’s the size of the entire Russian armed forces, including reserves.
And from the news today, the Ukrainian resistance held the night. One of the rules of winning is, success inspires support, and that’s exactly what happened. Europe has now released a couple thousand advanced missiles (anti-tank and SAM), and that’s going to change the math of being a Russian tank or helicopter crew.

Oh, except that I’m sure they don’t have any of Starlink’s specialized and required reciever dishes set up in Ukraine (why would they if it was not available?). Did he mention anything about that?
