Russia invades Ukraine

This is cutting off economic ties with an aggressor. Freedom Fries were school yard name calling against an ally

Up until the moment that Putin gave the go, the troops were holding as a training exercise. It’s possible that the markings were to distinguish between red and blue training teams.

That might also explain reports of some units running out of gas: sloppy on supply because they expected to be recalled soon rather than invading Ukraine. It was a surprise attack.

" A long-running academic survey found in December that only 8 percent of Russians supported a military conflict against Ukraine, and only 9 percent thought that Russia should arm Ukrainian separatists."

Wow! That is incredibly unpopular. Less than a third of even the 30% you can usually count on to go along with anything!

Worse (for the shirtless one) those numbers were before any shots were fired or mothers missed their sons!

As in “surprise, you’re attacking!” Some of the Russian troops in the videos seem genuinely flummoxed about the situation they find themselves in.

Another theory about the Z’s is that the Ukrainians use a lot of the same models of Cold-War era armoured vehicles and the Russians needed a quick and dirty way to distinguish friend from foe.

Biden banned importing Russian ammo in August 2021, as part of the “punishment” for the poisoning of Aleksey Navalny.

The Security Council should never have had permanent members.

That has been the working theory since they started. And honestly, I’m fine with that. The only thing more idiotic than a country of our size having only two mainstream parties is having only ONE somewhat functioning party and a batshit crazy party as the only other alternative. I don’t foresee a coalition government in the States any time soon, so at least this would be something.

Let one of them give up nukes and let’s see how long their permanent seat lasts.

I don’t think the permanent members are a problem as such, but rather the fact they have veto power.

So is my cousin. He has nothing else in common with that dictator besides gender.

Of course in an ideal world only the ones that give up their nukes should have a permanent seat
