Scotty McCreery stops concert when he sees unhinged man in crowd: "That's a lady you just hit, Sir!"
Good for him! And I hope the woman is alright, safe, and never has an interaction with that creep ever again.
I’ve heard of performers doing stuff like this more than once. Is that something singers are asked to do, since they’ve got eyes on the crowds? I can see lots of performers being eager to help like that, but others might want to focus on performing…
I hope that creep doesn’t turn out to be her husband or a relative or something.
I… don’t understand this story.
Singer on the stage at a concert sees an attendee assault another attendee, stops the show and calls the person out on it.
Statistically speaking probably is a relative.
It’s not that I don’t appreciate that he did it, but this sort of thing should be commonplace and not exemplary.
I know. Still, hope and all that.
Unless they are the ones to be harassed.
~45 years ago, at a Trust concert, in a very small venue in Rome:
Singer (in French): “YOU! Stop spitting on me!”
Public boos the spitting idiot. Some minutes pass.
Singer: “Now, you passed the mark”.
He got down from the stage and beat the shit out of the idiot.
Cheers from everyone, and great gig overall, if you like French Hard Rock.
No matter who the creep was it’s a good thing he was called out in public and apprehended for it. One of the ways abusers continue to get away with their crimes is that all too many bystanders take the “I’d rather not get involved” route instead of doing something to help intervene.
You might have been impressed with how Lee Ving got gobbed.
I was.
