The are keen because frightening parallels to other tyrannical regimes.

They seek approval, to be seen to be doing what they are trained to do in the way they are told to do it. Rare is the border guard with an ethics PhD.

This is why tyrants can do it: stuff just gets shoved through and done.

I accept that you have to draw the line somewhere but I don’t think it should be between zero and five. Actually I am impressed (in a strange way) that they have handcuffs for a five year old. The more you learn.
