Let’s say the cabinet decided that this is finally it, he had crossed the rubicon, could they actually do it? Most of the cabinet hasn’t been approved by the Senate, which shouldn’t be possible. Almost all of them are acting, which should be allowed for a very short period of time but we have multiple people who have been “acting” for a year+.

The wording doesn’t allow for acting, and you know old Justice Roberts never met a hair he couldn’t split to help out the Republican cause, in the event it was challenged and brought to the Supreme Court.

I never imagined the next failed republic would be my own. WTF?

CNN also needs to give Biden the exact amount of time they spend covering Dolt 45. Free of charge.

If CNN balks at that just tell them: Do you want fascism? Because continuing on this farce of independent journalism while the current administration, the GOP, and Fox news continually hammer away at our democracy’s institutions is how you get fascism.

A number of journalist witnesses to the Pandemic side show referred to the President’s demeanor as bonkers. It is difficult to draw any other conclusion if you watch even part of it.

What this latest propaganda farce demonstrates is the the 25th Amendment is not worth the paper on which it is written. It also shows the press have no shame. They should have walked out. They should stop airing the crap. It is not news that Trump is mental nor that the GOP Senate is enabling death and economic destruction across the nation.

Twitter is a disaster. And not only in the tongue-in-cheek software meaning, also in the swarm of locusts on your land meaning.

Imho twitter is almost as harmful to the global news cycle as the Murdoch Media Empire.

Two very insightful pieces. Worth reading in full, everyone.
Thanks.

That was brutally on point.

Yes, yes they do.

  1. Their execs and major shareholders definitely want fascism.
  2. Their top-level staff know that Trump is their meal ticket, and will do anything to protect him.

The 25th amendment only provides certainty of succession in case the president is unfit to perform his duties. Unfortunately it does not define the conditions of fitness, such as not being a pathological liar.

When “unfit” is a bug, rather than the core value.

It doesn’t define it as not being the case either…

The news article suggests otherwise. The CNN chyrons calling out Dolt45 in real time (hopefully) means the order came from above and not from an “Overzealous Staffer ™”. If this type of reporting continues maybe it means the execs and top staff thought about it and decided against fascism after all.

In the mean time, you DO have an escape plan, right?

right?
