this record from 1972 contains the hip Hop DJ staple “we live in Brooklyn, baby” and should have been known to NWA producers Dre and Yella if not the whole group. hard to say if they were intentionally sampling the composition of the photo but I believe so.
this later Smif-n-Wessun LP is more explicit in borrowing the Ayres album cover.
highly recommend both.
