The correct answer is somewhere between ee-ber and oo-ber, but we have no sound like that in American English.
That organization’s name is the equivalent of those who re-appropriated the word “queer” long before it started being socially acceptable. Literally: they’ll tell you they use the term specifically to stand up to the age-old prejudice. They don’t speak for everyone who was born outside of a legal marriage between the bio-mother and bio-father.
