Steve Bannon was arrested on a boat, and the U.S. Postal Service was involved

Don’t get me wrong; Anthony had bigoted ways and didn’t support the right for ALL women to vote, so she’s no “hero” of mine personally.

I just think it’s fabulous that the keepers of her legacy basically told 45 to fuck off with his meaningless token gesture.

As for who floated that ‘brilliant’ idea to 45, there’s no telling - for all we know, someone showed him a coin trick using a Susan B. Anthony dollar, and that’s where he got the ridiculous notion;

Would that be regular reality or American reality?

Yeah, because in other countries an environmental agency faced with gun violence would just (radical idea, I know)… call the police.

Will they all be wrinkled AF and grubby, like everything else it wears?

"Bannon still receives cash residuals each time Seinfeld is aired.”

Even more glad I’ve never watched it.

I was trying to think of a joke earlier when I heard he was arrested on a boat, maybe that he thought he was in Russian waters or something.

That’s got to be the Onion, as it’s not fundamentally stupid enough to be reality. If there was a story that Trump issued an order to create a “Federal Department of Women” and wanted to appoint Susan B Anthony as its head, that would be a real news story.

She was always very clear she didn’t want to be pardoned - as with many activists, it was a badge of honor for her - so it really was one of the most basic things they could do to honor her legacy.

What’s funny is he expressed surprised no one had pardoned her already - well, there was a reason for that. It’s like when signed a proclamation honoring the 100th anniversary of something, and expressed surprise no one had done it before him. Surprised no one had honored the centenary… before it was the centenary.

The number of morons working in the White House is a very long list. There are others who aren’t so dumb, but figure that even the most idiotic attempts to pander and distract will work (because they have in the past, when aimed at Trump’s base).

Impossible. The reality is already a joke. He was apparently aware he was about to be arrested for fraud, and was hiding out. The boat he was hiding out on is owned by a Chinese billionaire who’s a fugitive himself - one of China’s most wanted fugitives, in fact. Wanted for, among other things… fraud.

Weird, but it turns out not to be true.

OK. Although in that sense there are no “heroes”; I cannot think of any historical figure that we reveal for contributions in one area that wasn’t deeply flawed in another.

Well according to the Wikipedia page he was some top flight maverick genius, and everything put hands on turned to gold…

Hmmm…
You thinking what I’m thinking?

From the animated GIF, is Steve Bannon a reptoid?

Seriously though, some of us don’t believe in the great men and women view of history.

He did it because of the anti-choice group, the Susan B. Anthony List, I’d wager. More red meat for the evangelical base.

She was one woman in one transnational movement. Noting that there were racists elements in the white feminist movement at the time (and today) is entirely accurate and is often glossed over and ignored for a more streamlined version that is incorrect.

I think overall it is better to have more but more focused law enforcement agencies both so they can specialize, and to limit their scope. Abuses can and will happen anyway, so we no matter what need to continue laws and policies to restrict their activity and hold them accountable, but even that is probably easier when you have multiple smaller focused groups rather than rolling that all into e.g., the FBI or the US marshals.

If this was based on someone throwing something at him, he would be pardoning Milton Florsheim.
