I sure hope so; the teachers here have been on strike since late last week.
Give the teachers what they need to do their jobs well, FFS.

What could be more villainous that working to destroy public education? A few companies rack up a short-term profit, and we are plunged into the dark ages? Even if I was the guy in charge of the for-profit schools, I can’t imagine being that callous. (Which is why I’m not in charge of the for-profit schools, I guess.)

I don’t know that they’re even asking for anything that extravagant. Living wages and some sort of check on buearacratic corruption, mostly. Schools that are funded to the level of performance we expect from teachers and students is another generation away, I fear.
