Suspecting arson, cops subpoena homeowner's pacemaker logs, then charge him with multiple felonies

What I really want to know is how did they get the data? Did it require surgery? Does it have a GPRS radio or some other wireless means of “phoning home”? Does he have a USB port coming out of his side they can hook into?

I’m really curious about this and I don’t recall seeing any details in the article on how this data was collected. The engineer in me is really curious.

I’m confused. Did the pacemaker start the fire? Was he burning pacemaker logs? Was this a case of heart burn?
