I wish I would encounter a stray like that on a bike ride. Unfortunately all the loose dogs that I come across while biking are determined to bite me.

ah, the simplicity of being bitten. most dogs i encounter while biking want to tear one of my legs off and carry it around as a trophy.
( why do dogs hate bikes so much? is it jealousy? )
