You know Cory Doctorow would hate me saying this, and I’m not 100% on it, but - remember the FBI Stingray that intercepted cell phones? Sometimes I think that we the people ought to have cell “towers” installed all over the Capitol and the office buildings, so that all texts to/from our Congresscritters and to/from our White House folks are intercepted and archived with metadata. Of course, I’m from Florida where “Government in the Sunshine” means all email for state email systems is archived, and I believe texts are supposed to be saved too but I don’t know if there’s a technological means of doing so or if it’s the honor system.

You’d think after his Cancún fiasco he’d at least pretend to show interest in the important matters of the day.
Once again, this sort of thing is exactly why his supporters will vote for him. Dodging responsibility, being selfish, callous and arrogant, acting like a privileged asshole who doesn’t have to obey the rules- he’s doing exactly what Trump would do. And Republicans will, as always, mistake his incompetence, disinterest and corruption for being a big strong tough guy who they have to respect and worship. This is what they think leadership looks like- lording over, rather than representing the interests of, those with less power and influence.

The Republicans have said the party is whatever Trump says it is so why would senators need to bother paying attention. Once Trump speaks, all is settled and until he speaks it is best not to say or do anything lest you be on the wrong side of the Great Helmsman’s utterance and branded a traitor.
Stalin and Mao would both be so proud of this flower of their policies coming into bloom in the US.

Did you see that Gaetz FREAKED OUT when he heard that the FBI had collected the cell phone data from the 6th? I expect they’re also looking at the logs from the tours given on the 5th. This could be good
