Ted Cruz flops again with another lousy political theater stunt

Point, set, match.

Have you been to Texas? Empty stunts are a way of life.

I’d bet you a doughnut that at least one of those headlines will read “Ted Cruz SLAMS Senate Judiciary Committee”, because nothing is better than when news outlets pepper their headlines with “SLAM.” I love it so much when I go to peruse the headlines and see that, for example, Fauci SLAMMED Rand Paul at the exact same time and place where Paul SLAMMED Fauci. You might say that I think those SLAM headlines are a real GRAND SLAM!*

Maybe Cruz will complain again about being taunted. Taunted!

*Sarcasm, in case it needs to be noted. I like seeing those headlines slightly more than I like experiencing enterobiasis. Presumably all these “SLAMS” just hide the fnords.

Hey, that’s not fair! They’re often stupid about multiple issues!

one thing that helps gohmert out is that the laws of texas make it impossible for students living in residence halls at the university and the community college in his district from establishing residency in the district. this eliminates literally thousands of potential votes against him. add to that the fact that , with apologies to any rational baptists reading this, there are are more baptist churches in that area than pawn shops, title loan companies, payday lenders, and dollar stores combined and you see the difficulty of any garden variety, baby-killing, hummasexual democrat getting elected there. i went to school and lived there off and on for 12 years. joe manchin wouldn’t be able to get elected in that district.

eta to add the crucil phrase “living in residence halls”

Most of the time I’d agree with you… but most folks in these parts don’t see Rafael ‘Ted’ Cruz as ‘White’. Hell, voting for him gives them an “i’m not a racist, I vote for Cruz” card. They do see him as a 'Publican and that’s gonna get their vote because that is what Daddy taught ‘em. Even then Beto came within spittin’ distance of beating him. Far closer than what i thought it would be.

Gerrymandering. Voter disenfranchisement. White supremacy, bigotry, racism.

Ted Cruz really takes assholery to a whole new level. It’s easy to be a run-of-the-mill asshole, but to have your name become so thoroughly synonymous with asshole among even your political allies takes talent.

Can we get the members of Congress to participate in some charity sporting events? I’d love to see “Warren Body SLAMS Cruz in the Pentagon!” after she challenges him to wrestle.

A Senate Judiciary Committee meeting where the subject of gun violence prevention was being discussed and Ted Cruz says “If you don’t support ‘abolishing’ the police, why do you keep voting for nominees who advocate abolishing police?” Did he somehow wander into the wrong Senate Judiciary Meeting? What does abolishing the police have to do with gun violence prevention aside from the obvious /s.

It sure is.
A small amount of editing will show him totally Owning The Libs.

Short answer: He has an R by his name on the ballot. Plus:

THIS /\ /\

Oh, I think he has competition from the likes of Hawley, Jordan, Cotton, etc. Seems to me that his surname might be an issue with the more rabid Klan/WN loons in that jar of mixed nuts.

That’s Gerrymandering for you. They have been picking their voters for years, & the SCOTUS rulings a few years ago that did away with oversight didn’t help.

I know it seems like an eternity, but he has only been re-elected once (and he barely won).
Keep in mind that we have the unholy trinity of Abbott, Patrick, & Paxton ‘running’ things here & they predate Cruz’s election to the Senate. Well, Paxton took over as AG from Cruz, but they are from the same mold.

No reason it can’t be both.
That river can be wide and deep.

I’ve never come across one of those critters, but if it weren’t for Baptists, there wouldn’t be any dry counties in Texas, we would have had casinos long ago, & we wouldn’t have had all the anti-LGBTQ nonsense that is rampant.
Religious Fundamentalism & Right-Wing NutJobbery are joined at the hip.
