Because a mooslim in Dallas would be more lahkly to have a terrist bomb?
It’s not that other minorities, who can be mistook for muslim but are not, should be given a “pass.” It’s that no minority (who can be mistook for muslim or not) should be victimized based on bullshit, bigoted “redneck intuition.”
Now I’m going to holster my legally purchased and registered, conceal-carry indignation.
Perhaps the Principal is an equal-opportunity bigot when it comes to religions. Perhaps I should send him the photos of all my extended family in order of skin color, and ask him where on the line he would set the boundary for “possible terrorist”.
You didn’t mention the mixture which is used to provide “freezing packs” - e.g. cryopack
In fact the big energy reservoir is in the soil, and once you are a few metres down it is pretty constant throughout the year. The difficulty is the expense of providing a big enough heat exchanger surface.
Our previous house was built over an underground stream (some way down, in rock) and I did at one point consider using a heat pump with the source exchanger installed down in the stream. But the economics were awful, maintenance would have been a nightmare, and we installed a wood burning stove instead, which had a 3 year (rather than a never) payback.
@shaddack knows that I appreciate his comments BECAUSE he is so knowledgeable and accurate. I was just in the mood to tease a bit about it, that’s all.
It’s a very good idea. I have been told that the problem is that it makes theft (of the panels) too easy. For the same reason I don’t have any on the roof of the single-storey part of my house.
I had that feeling too, especially since the very first quote from his sister is about him being a “goofball” with a wacky sense of humor. From other articles, it sounds like he and some other kids were joking around about bombs and he said something about how his backpack was actually a bomb; from there, either the teacher called the principal or a “bully” called the police, depending on whose story you believe. The reaction of the police/school was totally insane at that point, and the police are definitely full of shit, but this wasn’t just a case of a kid with a techy backpack getting randomly arrested out of nowhere.
A Sikh separatist movement was responsible for a number of assassinations and bombings in the 1980s, including an Air India flight with 329 souls aboard. Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her own Sikh bodyguards. Less infamously, Sikh battalions in the British Army have a well-earned reputation for fierce tenacity.
None of which is at all relevant to this case, and I’d be extremely surprised if these school or police authorities knew the first thing about Sikhism, much less Sikh separatism, but the argument that Sikhs should be above suspicion simply due to their inherent pacifism is not too solid.
