Did one of those groups do a song about a guy lamenting the lack of utility of his astronomy degree?

A song like that came up in conversation on a message board twenty years ago as an example of something that definitely wasn’t gangsta rap, and I’ve been trying to find it again with little success, mostly because I was curious about what happened to the performer in the meantime. (I think I looked it up at some point and it still just sounded like another angry guy shouting incoherently. But nonetheless.)

iunno about that one, but Blackalicious does a definitely-not-gangster song about chemistry that’s actually really dope

the duo is Blackalicious but the rapper’s very appropriate name is Gift of Gab.

Not familiar with this group, but there is a whole nerdcore rap genre. I’ve seen Mega Ran a couple times and he puts on a good show.

I don’t say this lightly: the album the song linked above is from literally changed my life. Blazing Arrow, by Blackalicious is an immortal classic.

ETA more gushing about what is possibly a perfect hip-hop record
