it works without electricity, a gas canister, kettle or stove. The Bripe
site explains that it " only requires ground coffee, and water, and
includes a portable butane-powered quad jet torch

tilt-y head dog wonders about no “gas canister” while yet “butane-powered quad jet torch”

No good can come of this.

If you use for both things, you’d have to really clean it out well, if you don’t want your coffee to taste like burnt tobacco.

I’d be worried about burning myself, but also I wonder if it might compare to turkish coffee.

Or if you don’t want your opium to taste like burnt coffee.

Did you or the writer of the article actually watch the video? It isn’t used as a pipe at all - it is only for making coffee. Think about it.

I watched the video.
It’s a pipe for drinking coffee.

You could, however, stuff tobacco in it and have a smoke, but I don’t think that’d add to the fun.

You could. But if you did, you’re an idiot.

Or just desperate for a smoke.

If the video is too long for you, there’s an unhelpful summary:

Nicely done, sir!

I think smoking out of a copper pipe is a surefire way to get copper poisoning.

You are probably right. I don’t know if that’s better or worse than cancer.
I’ll probably just stick to the coffee.

Joking aside, would smoking through a copper pipe be any worse than drawing hot liquid through same?
A genuine scientific enquiry here. I am not sciency enough to know how to measure the difference.

I don’t know. My thought was based on a friend who used a copper screen from his mom’s sink to smoke weed when he was a kid. He ended up in the hospital but it was not life threatening as far as I know.

Oh, wow, I didn’t even know that was a thing.
The smokers I know just use rolling paper and a filter.
Sounds complicated.

Pot pipes commonly had screens when I was a kid.

Ah, mostly, from what I read, to stop you swallowing the cherry.
My dad and grandad both smoked pipes (wooden, old-fashioned jobs, no filter).
I think the science back then was simply lighting the top of the pile of baccy, drawing the smoke through.
The dampish baccy would have acted as it’s own filter.
I have now rambled, and probably gone OT, soz.

Am I missing something cos this seems like a really good way to just end up with a mouth full of coffee grounds, like drinking Turkish coffee with a straw.
