The dangerous, exploitative, and dirty business of "healing" crystals

What a great marketing technique. I can sell anything and say that it’s referred to as “the best product available” (or some other ridiculous superlative). I just need one person to actually refer to it as that, and the statement won’t be false!

If not, then I guess that was the last of the V8s.

I’m reminded of an explanation I heard for why ridiculous email scams work - the idea is that the more ridiculous they are, the more they filter out the less gullible. Leaving only the most gullible people actually falling for it which is exactly who they want. Most people know BS when they see it. The people that don’t know BS when they see it are just the kind of suckers they want!

Maybe not. One of several studies that defy conventional wisdom regarding salt consumption on high bp.

Even better: Motts Clamato juice. Something about clam squeezings changes tomato juice into something I like.

Also “low sodium” V8 has a lot of potassium in it, and they say most people are deficient

Well, I know how it effects me, and my doctor approves of it as a solution.

Your study also speaks of long term effects, which is not what I am talking about at all.

It also mentions that certain other conditions must be met, to obtain those results.

The tigers own the rock store that sells large tiger protection rocks. They then patrol the city eating those who have not invested in TigerRock Evil Corproation Incorporated LLC (TM AND PATENT Pending) thusly making both profit and meals at the same time. Once they have had their fill of eating non rock humans they will phone in the Lions; and TigerRock Evil Corporation has a monopoly and sole ownership of Lion Attack Prevention Crystals. So you will be eaten by a lion, after a good profit for the Tigers.

Yes but if someone shoplifts at their hippydippy woo woo store, or robs the place at gun/knife point; or an employee skims the till or shows up late; it’s NEVER karmic debt of the store owner. I’ve noticed that other people’s problems are karmic debt and their own problems are BEYOND that.

As would so much of my life these days; wonder if that should concern me.

Prevailing wisdom N=0.

What I’m asserting is that there is reason to doubt prevailing wisdom, thus “maybe not” in my original post. And as I said, there are numerous studies that are countering the prevailing wisdom regarding salt intake and blood pressure (and thirst), perhaps the most recently famous are the ones centering on dietary studies for long-term space travel.

I am certain there are studies that back the prevailing wisdom that we’ve been told for decades. The issue is that recent studies specifically constructed with the decades old underlying assumption of NaCL effects weren’t giving the expected results. Thus, there is reason to doubt the earlier studies.
