Go, Stacey; Go!

I don’t live in GA, but on behalf of all my peeps that do, I hope she wins.

I think she’s the first black woman ever nominated for governor of anywhere.

Sadly, you are correct.

I hope she wins and turns Georgia into a successful model of progressive policies that work.

Not sadly at all. Somebody gets to be first at anything!

First one nominated by a major party anyway.

Good for her. In my neck of the woods

As Dave Chappelle once said, being “the first Black” anything generally sucks for that person.

No joke. When the full-on election campaign gets under way, it’s not going to be pretty. I could speculate on the stuff that’ll be said, but I think we all know by now with great precision the stuff that will be said by her Republican opponent.

for prediction’s sake:

Welfare queen
Soft on criminals
Criminal
Lesbian (apparently not married?)
Tax evader (was tax lawyer, who owes IRS)
Pothead, Drug Addict
Muslim
Socialist, Communist
Racist
Something something white genocide

Nonsense! Look at the honors that were heaped upon our first black President, by friend and foe alike!

“She can’t even manage her own finances! How is she supposed to know the first thing about running those of our great state!” Just for starters, I’d guess (and never you mind of course Trump’s four bankruptcies).

I’d guess this will get out the white vote like never before too.

  • Sidney Portier

Case in point.

“unapologetic progressive” platform

We need waaaaaaay more of that. Good for her for being a democrat with balls and for drawing a firm line in the sand.

Valdez will win and will go on to win the presidency. Which means Lisa Simpson’s comment in “Bart to the Future” (s11, e17) “I am honoured to be the first heterosexual female president” will be another one of the Simpson’s predictions that came true.

Okay, okay, I think I get it guyz.

I know that I too took part here in anticipating how her opponents will run her down and try to drag her through the mud, but is there anything else to say about her run besides that?

I like her platform.

These are the candidates we need on the ticket this fall. More please!
