Well when your leaders are death cultists…
Yep…the trucker convoy’s just about covid freedumbs. /s
How to ask for an ass kicking.
They’re going to tar and feather the actual street??? While I am curious if that would quiet road noise, it seems like they might be subject to a…(checks municipal codes) $75 fine?!?
- If an officer sees you dropping garbage, trash, debris, or any other kind of discarded material on public space, in waterways, or on someone else’s private property, you may receive a $75 Notice of Violation for littering.
That can’t be right.
Oh no. Not remotely. I used to live close to Cartersville, and it’s now a suburban community to ATL (thanks to metro-spread). I am unsurprised by this story.
Anybody see that kapo on stage right?
While he avoided specifically mentioning the accusations of sexual assault that led him to resign, Cuomo portrayed himself as a victim of bullying.
“Stand up to the ignorance and intolerance, stand up to the bullies. Stand up to the extremists. Cancel the cancel culture,” he urged the crowd. “Our cancel culture mentality today is like modern day stonings.”
Why did those mean people have to go and “cancel” him make him suffer consequences? He’d still be governor if those women didn’t bully him come forward.
Wow, another article showcasing the remarkable support given to the LGBTQ community by Disney. Keep up the good work. /s
TikTok creator @therealbwk discovered something pretty depressing about the Disney+ app. The 2020 Pixar SparkShort “Out,” which is about exactly what you think it’s about, is not available on the app when you log in under a kid’s account. Adults can find and stream the short, but kids and teens who are subject to parental controls or are sharing the app with adults don’t have that option.
To reiterate: is “Out” in any way X-rated or inappropriate for young viewers? Nope. It’s just gay! It’s about coming out to your parents, and weirdly enough it’s only available for adults who probably have already come out.
Fuck you, UCLA!
With a goddamn wire brush.
Edit: UCLA has a $7.2 Billion endowment.
It’s as absurd as it sounds, at least I couldn’t find anything you’re missing. I guess UCLA is just looking for volunteers with a PhD.
I would love to have biochemistry professor on my resume. I’m not qualified or able to do the work, but here is a case where I’d feel entirely justified not even showing up for any of it anyway. Think they have in-person interviews? If not, should I go for it?
Absolutely. Do all zoom classes and teach applied chemistry.
All baking, all the time.
Having worked at a CSU campus, I might know what’s going on. They probably have a person already on campus who is getting paid with a grant. The department wants to keep this person for the job but state law requires them to post the job. Most likely, they will create a budgeted position during the next fiscal year.
I’m not sure I was planning on actually teaching, but I do read about chemistry, and it might be fun to go ramble about whatever I thought was cool. Not going to bother with tests or marking though. Everyone gets an A for putting up with a cheap university.
That’s not better. Grants don’t pay health insurance. Even if they posted it at minimum wage, the person would get benefits.
Yeah. My guess is that the person probably has insurance through another source, whether it be Obamacare or something else.
I had a halftime position in the 90s and they wanted to keep me with hopes it would become a full-time budgeted position once I finished my master’s. I was on my husband’s insurance and I could wait it out, but eventually I moved on.
I was told that they had to post a job opening because the funding had changed from a grant to department budget. They told me that they wrote the position very specifically to meet my qualifications.
This should not be a shock to anyone. This kind of thing always happens when you abuse workers who are desperate for a position of any kind.
People with phds got to eat and pay rent, too…
Um… no. Well, maybe in CA…
And nothing of value was lost.
That sounds like the PhDs problem, not UCLAs. /s
