You know what would make unemployment surge? A contraction in the real economy. Less buying, less making, less selling, less receipts for the exchequer, fewer jobs, and much more misery.

Eventually kills someone for trivial reasons and is amazed when heā€™s arrested ā€œShe was real?ā€ Investigator interviews him in jail, slips out to call the bureau. They cancel his card. Investigator goes back, shoots guy. No one remembers.)

Note that the translation is not exact. Bundeskanzler, ā€œFederal Chancellorā€ refers to the post-1949 office (well, and the one in the North German Confederation 1867-1870/71, but nobody ever means that). Some of the other contenders were Reichskanzler.

ETA: I mixed up State Farm and Allstate. State Farm is the biggest corporate donor to ALEC.

Hikers were rescued from an Arizona mountain while filming a reality show as temperatures hit 108 degrees

Since it was a commercial venture- the company should have to pay the rescue costs.

Not Phoenix, I think it was Las Vegas, visiting family as a kid. I walked across a parking lot that was so hot it melted the glue in my shoes, the soles fell right off onto the blacktop.
