The Gallery of Just Plain Assholes (Part 2)

Depends on the drug, but overall, the whole purpose of skin is to keep the outside out.

Four letters: DMSO. I donā€™t know how a random rich bastard could get his hands on some, but Iā€™m betting ā€œrichā€ is how.

Not hard to obtain, used as a liniment for achy horsies. I would have to see a study (which I bet doesnā€™t exist) on how well it works as a carrier for Rohypnol, though. And I am not using my work computer for that search!

Anyone who would take Bari Weiss as a source of anything but misinformation is way over the edge.

What was it that sheā€™s done to improve trans healthcare or access again?

Nothing comes to mind.

I found the alt text on this picture funny.

The alt text:

A screenshot from Bari Weissā€™s publication, The Fascist Launderette, of a piece published by her, featuring the headline, ā€œBrianna Wu Says She Didnā€™t Change. The Progressive Movement Did,ā€ followed by a summary deck reading, ā€œIā€™ve hosted hundreds of conversations on Honestly. This is among the best.ā€ The picture is of Wu seated before a mic with a big fuzzy pop guard, looking off screen with an expression of concern that seems to say, ā€œThis is the last sellout job I can do for relevance and to avoid working for a living; do I get the check at the end?ā€

She actively works against trans healthcare and from things Iā€™ve heard, she has for a long time.

No achievements in improving healthcare policy or legislation or even having any healthcare training - but sheā€™s an expert somehow?

Who wouldnā€™t want to interview her on the issue?

Sheā€™s a shitweasel.

I think it would make more sense to just add it to drinks. I really donā€™t get why anybpdy would go to all that trouble to dose somebody.

I think it kinda depends on the context. It says only some of them were dressed in SS uniforms. If some of their dining companions were wearing allied uniforms, the context would be relatively clear. If they were all in street clothes, however, I would also assume the uniformed ones were nazis.

That said, even if I knew they were reenactors, I would be suspicious. I canā€™t imagine anyone choosing to reenact a Waffen SS soldier (or a Wehrmacht one) without harbouring some sympathy for them.

How do you reenact a war if no one is willing to play all of the parts? You could do anything about Belgium and the Congo without Leopold, and re-enactments are powerful tools of education.
Also, the Nazis were and are horrible human beings, but they are human beings. To lose that focus is a really bad idea-itā€™s part of why they were able to fester for so long in the US, mostly ignored. But evil didnā€™t rain down and infect them, they chose to agree with it. Showing how that happens and that it is happening right here, right now, is worth wearing a costume for a few hours. Forgetting to take it offf is just stupid.

Let me ask you this: do you need to reenact a war? I have yet to meet a reenactor who didnā€™t in some way identify with the person they portrayed, whether they be Roman or Celtic, Viking or Landsknecht.

Reenactor makes it sound vaguely academic- theyā€™re Larpers.

Well, they did an event at a museum, so vaguely academic probably applies. Living History is the preferred term, I believe.

Itā€™s not preferred by everyone.
