Dirk Darksaber, good porn / adult film name.

The Clone Wars->Rebels->Mandalorian connection of the Dark Saber is maybe one of the best examples of Star Wars using its connective story tissue to full effect. If you watch the related episodes in that show order the reveal at the end of Mando season 1 is glorious!

it bugs me that i’ve not seen folks mentioning that the last person (before Darth Maul took it) to have wielded the dark saber before the end of The Mandalorian was the Pre Vizsla, a mandalorian who was voiced by Jon Favreau

I believe the last person with it was Bo-Katan Kryze?

One of the novels was called Darksaber, where it referred to something completely different.

Taking leadership of a whole planet seems like something that would go against the Jedi code. Aren’t they supposed to be humble, selfless servants of the people?

Huh, usually lightsabers are used to sever connective tissue.

don’t know if she carried it at some point, but Pre Viszla fought Darth maul with it when he was killed and darth took the saber with him.

Ezra and Sabine recovered it from Maul and Sabine gave it to Bo-Katan in Rebels.

Interesting use of the word ‘History’ to describe the happenings in a work of fiction.

It is people contracted by Lucas Film that come up with this stuff, scripted and manipulated to serve an end goal. And then, after the followers absorb/buy every minutia as indisputable canon, a new owner comes along and tells you all that stuff never happened and will never be mentioned again.

Now the lineage of the Darksaber is whatever the Mouse says it is.

awesome. I haven’t made it through Rebels yet, I’m on season 3 i believe. I purchased season 1 last year just so i could see the first episode with Asoka, but the seasons were like 30 bucks, but i’ve started back up again with Disney+

Succinctly put. My first thought was, ‘who makes up this crap?’

Seems like prodigalphreak only watched Clone Wars amd not Rebels to see the continued story of the Darksaber. My girl Sabine Wren had her hands on it for a while as well before she gave it to Bo-Katan (voiced by the amazing Katee Sackhoff. )

How it got to Gideon from Bo-Katan is what I want to know. Im hoping for Katee to reprise her character in a flashback in Mandalorian s2 that deals with that.

All of the history of the Darksaber in Clone wars came about under Lucas’ guidance and Filoni’s hand. It was smart of disney to wipe away the convoluted and mostly ridiculous EU stuff.

Thanks for stopping by!

I think I even said out loud “how the hell did he get that blade!?” watching that scene. Mr. Kidd was quite confused. I had to explain the whole Clone Wars and Rebels connections. Jr. Kidd and I have watched all the cartoons. We’re actually watching Rebels again right now.

My jaw equally dropped. MrsAkbar was equally confused so I got to drop some mad SW knowledge. (its a good thing she finds my geek side so cute)

side note: filoni pops up on an episode of Favreau’s chef show on Netflix. Seeing it after Mandalorian its clear they were dropping as many hints about the DS reappearing as they could.

Im in a re-watch of clone wars myself to get ready for the final season coming on the 21st. Even with the distaste the last film left in my mouth what a time to be a SW fan.

That was the only EU book I read, and probably explains why I never bothered with the rest. Even as a kid I thought that naming something the ‘Darksaber’ was trying a bit too hard to be cool.
