This is the guy behind the Lincoln Project ads:
They aren’t about getting the worst aspects out of the GOP, they’re about entrenching them more securely in the Dems.

Fine, I’m not going to defend Ben Howe, but I’m still trying to understand your point. Near as I can tell, the Lincoln Project didn’t play much of a role, if any, in the Democratic primary. Democrats picked Biden on their own. So what do you mean about they’re trying to entrench the worst people firmly into the Democratic Party, and how does attacking the (clearly awful) GOP senators further that goal?
I notice that Reek Romney’s name is conspicuously missing from that list. Very telling, that.
Suspiciously absent is Kellyanne Conway as well, but I guess they skipped all the toadies who can’t be trusted in this one.
I understand why they’d leave her out, since her husband runs the Lincoln Project and since listing the regime’s proud and unashamed loyalists would be pointless. But if they’re calling out Collins and Rubio it’s odd that they’d leave out Mittens.
It makes perfect sense to me: they’re letting elected Republicans know that as long as they show some backbone when absolutely necessary – like being the only Republican to vote for impeachment – then they won’t get lumped in with Trump.
This ad was a message for all of them, too.
I value your hard line in many discussions, but this is just wrong. Nearly everyone was taken by surprise by this. As annoying as it is to admit, given the US American track record of using people and then dropping them in the shit, but this was a true blunder without strategy. We can bet on it that this came out of a constant barrage of phone calls by Erdoğan to the WH.
(Went and looked that up… All these years, I thought that Peter Billingsley acted in this. Never saw it (nor read the book), myself, but I’m thinking my daughter would dig it. ETA: Probably I would, as well.)
Looked at that way, it does make sense. The Lincoln Project, for all that their ads are effective and slick in opposing Biff, is really just interested in Republicans doing the absolute minimum when it comes to good-faith governance. Nothing new for American conservatives, I suppose.
You should totally check them both out, but make sure to read the novella Something Wicked This Way Comes before watching the movie adaptation.
This – and Romney’s vote to remove Trump from the WH – tells me something. I think Romney is considering another go at the WH, and on an anti-Trump/pro-GOP ticket. The monstrosity of Trump may make Romney more attractive to voters than when he last ran.
Please check me on this: The “Names” ad focuses on those who can be voted out. Kelly Anne is a consultant… not a public official.
Nope, you’re totally right. It is focused on elected politicians. The unelected, driveling sycophants deserve their own reckoning.
Given the obvious mind-f_____g intentions of the “Whispers” ad, I’d say going after the gutless toadies is not a ‘bridge too far’.
Kinda depends on the circles you hang out in.
Rojavan cooperation with the empire was a long-standing point of debate between the anarchist and anti-imperialist factions on the radical left, and when the US withdrew support from Rojava it was met with a chorus of “see? We told you this was gonna happen” from the anti-imperialist crew.
If Rojava had been established anywhere other than inside of a state that was under attack by the empire, the CIA would have been trying to destroy them rather than shipping them weapons. It was never going to last.
