It’s working; we visited the loch on our trip through Scotland, and spent lunch money there. Took the obligatory picture of the kid in front of the fiberglass monster.

It’s a beautiful area that certainly deserves to be visited on its own merits, but we probably wouldn’t have stopped there if it hadn’t been for the legend.


Many miles away, there’s a shadow on the door
Of a cottage on the shore
Of a dark Scottish lake,

It’s a picture of something and I have long felt it is an Orca Whale.

It’s always looked to me like an elephant’s trunk poking out of the water, the patch just to the left is the elephant’s forehead.
