Here’s an interesting site – enter a forename or surname and it will show you (via maps or lists) where people having that name are. A recent BBS comment got me thinking about the name “Cletus”, which is a somewhat amusing stereotypical American name for a country bumpkin or rube.
Surprisingly, Arkansas doesn’t have the most Cletuses – my state (Missouri) has more than 5 times as many. Zoom out to the global scale, though, and it happens there are nearly 58,000 people named Cletus in Nigeria:
