Give it a
Minor key āGrandma Got Run Over By a Reindeerā sounds frighteningly like an R.E.M. song.
Major key āLosing My Religionā does not sound like āGrandma Got Run Over By a Reindeerā though.
I honestly think this is the first joke I ever āgotā and repeated, as a lad:
āWhat did the Pink Panther say to the dead ant?ā
āDead ant, dead ant, dead ant dead ant dead antā¦ Dead ant!ā
āGrandma Got Run Over By Religionā needs to happen.
Imagine Coldplay doing this version and I could see it being a hit
Man, thatās a perfect Donny & Marie arrangement there.
I kinda like that one, though the creepy factor does take it over the top. Somewhat reminiscent, moodwise, to A Perfect Circleās arrangement of āImagine,ā which is so dark and cynical and bleak that the listenerās wrists slit themselves. (Now try and say that fast without spitting.)
But is it just me and a funky streaming connection, or do these major-to-minor and minor-to-major transformations desperately need to iron out the tempo? Drives me kinda nuts the way the tempo drifts.
