Right, that’s why Giuliani keeps trying to push this “secret kickbacks to Joe” part of the story. Because otherwise all they have is “why did Joe Biden ‘let’ his son take advantage of a lucrative job offer?” And that’s just weaksauce because it implies that Joe Biden can and should dictate what his adult children do with their careers.
Of course he should! That’s what all good fathers do! Just look at Il Douche, the fatheriest father who ever fathered! (/s)
I’m sure I read in one report that the computer shop owner has very poor eyesight, which may well account for his inability to answer questions, because he never saw anything worth a damn!
Yes, replying to my own post, having read dommerdoodle’s post above mine:
“ Hunter Biden, who lives in Los Angeles, decides to fly 3000 miles across country, to drop off 3 MacBook Pros at a repair shop run by a blind guy who charges the insanely low price of $85. ”
Not certain about its veracity, but I believe there’s a photo of said Repair Guy with one of the alleged laptops - which isn’t a MacBook Pro, oddly enough…
Do ellipses count as three characters, or just one? Twitter should have killed off the three character ellipsis by now.
People have been brainwashed into believing that Jews were the privileged elites. If you read the wrong sort of Christian websites, the elites are variously identified as marxist, lesbian, satanists, and so on. They have their elites and you have your elites. A generalized anti-elitist argument without concrete details feeds both ways. The same lack of specificity arises with “corruption.”
That’s a fine question!
This one is three …
… but that was just one.
Me, I like using ellipses for two purposes: for truncating text where a Read more link follows…
… and in pairs to indicate a dramatic pause.
First of all, conservatives are complaining that the MSM won’t cover the laptop (although they have in fact reported on it skeptically), but at the same time they’re not allowed to see this hard drive copied from the laptop, the NY Post isn’t allowing access to it.
Then the history around this whole thing-- Guilinani has been going back and fort to Ukraine for years trying to dig up dirt, more than a year ago he claimed he had found dirt on Hunter and Joe Biden, and then. . . nothing, no revelation.
Around the same time these laptops appear at the computer shop of (surprise surprise) a very proud and vocal Trump supporter, who also happens to be legally blind. He doesn’t get the name of the guy who brought them in (despite the fact that every computer shop I’ve ever been to requires you to fill out forms and leave a deposit for the work). He eventually cracks the laptops and copies the data to hard drive (which may be against Delaware privacy laws).
Somehow the FBI finds out about this laptop. How? Someone involved in the whole scheme obviously must have contacted them (Giuliani? The computer guy? Are we supposed to believe the FBI just knows about strange laptops everywhere?) So the FBI takes possession of the laptop, then. . . nothing. So, right before the election, with the FBI not doing anything Giuliani goes to the press, except Fox News won’t touch it, even the reporters at the NY Post don’t want their names attached to it.
Everything about this looks like a sloppy rat-fuckery job orchestrated by Giuliani.
It is hard to believe that Giuliani was ever taken seriously at this point.
As shown by the borat tape, I think it’s pretty obvious that giuliani is rather easily manipulated, and not very bright. I think it’s rather unlikely he orchestrated anything himself. More likely that his spy handler boss arranged everything and told guilani to try to get it into the news.
I don’t think it’s as obvious as that. I think he’s a willing dupe who dismisses the idea that anyone he is working with is a spy. The conservative mindset at this point is to just dismiss “Russia” as some kind of hoax from the “deep state.”
There were reports of people in Kyiv trying to sell supposed hunter Biden emails for $5million. If Trump and Giuliani bought the emails then they would need this kind of laptop scenario to leak them, they can’t just come out and say “we bought these emails from some shady Ukrainian!” The fact that the FBI now says the laptop is being investigated as part of a money laundering scheme might play into this idea. The conservative press is eating up this angle because they think it means Hunter Biden is involved in money laundering, but it could be Trump/Giuliani who are actually being investigated for money laundering.
Giuliani claims he turned down an offer for emails and video, shortly before the laptop magically appeared at the Delaware shop. . . containing emails and video. Which then a year later Giuliani somehow knows all about.
Apparently writing with ellipses is now a thing young people associate with old people
HOW CAN THIS BE
I guess “texting” has now been around long enough that there are identifiable eras of texting, and the early one where everything was shortened and stylized is now considered old and uncool
Unfuck 'em.
I still use ellipses when I feel it’s appropriate and I spell out the words “be, see, are, you, two, and before.”
I speak English, not ‘Bingo.’
Being willfully ignorant at any age ain’t cool.
I shall file this under “conventional wisdom”, as in “stuff pundits repeat until everyone believes it”. In my personal experience it’s more the literary pretentious that use ellipses, or the lesser educated who want to look like the former when abusing … that ligature right there. Only they don’t use it, they use far too many...........
(like that example, and not something I would do if I wasn’t making a point!)
i use ellipsis to indicate a lacuna in text when i’m directly quoting someone but wish to edit the quote in some form while showing that it has been edited. does that count as pretension on abuse?
Both are just one, the BBS autocorrects it for you if you don’t do it right
This is three ...
This is one …
edit: did it just auto correct again despite me using \ ?
I did notice, when I was attempting to do a typical Facebook Mom ellipsis. Although, for me the Facebook Mom Ellipsis is the lol
that is used to end paragraphs, no matter how appropriate. I hate you and hope you die lol!
is a classic one.
What really grinds my gears is “ur”.
If you want it pronounced “your” or “you’re” then you have to spell it "u.r."or “u r”. If you spell it “ur” I’m going to pronounce it “oohr” in my head every single time.
I honestly struggle to take people seriously who make that mistake. And I know that that’s tilting against windmills composed of linguistic shift but I can’t help myself.
