That’s not yet legal for side mirrors in the US but it is legal in the EU. Cars like the Audi e-tron are already offered with camera-based mirrors in Europe. You can bet that the second that the NHTSA allows it that companies like Tesla will be ready to make the switch. Personally I prefer the low-tech mirrors though.
