Yes, but I was replying to @Glaurung who did post the link.

I was looking forward to some drama today but it seems May might survive this. How dull :unamused:

James Rectory-Wilson

OMG, it’s worse than I thought…!

I don’t think he will. He knows he hasn’t got enough support to go all the way and is positioning himself as kingmaker instead.

After all this time and all the horrid realizations, how does anyone still even support brexit apart from the outer fringes of conservatism? It has been made pretty abundantly clear that leaving the EU is going to fuck all manner of shit up. Is this whole thing still just coasting on the “cannot admit I was wrong” momentum of all the people who voted for brexit “in symbolic protest,” and/or the people who voted for it because they were told to and didn’t actually know a damned thing about it?

It’s stupid. it’s abundantly and amazingly stupid.

There’s also a group of people who will profit from Brexit on the markets, and will move to France (and it usually is France, I feel sorry for the French) so they avoid the fallout.

To those who read and believe it. Most leavers still just want us out. Haven’t read or understood any of the technicalities of leave and would care even less even if they had. Just heard that EU were being difficult and taking advantage of our valiant negotiators (also known as ignorant lazy wankers - i.e. David Davis) and are fed up that our politicians cannot just get us out. ‘Just get us out’ is of course a cliff-edge hard brexit that will be a catastrophe. It is only their stubborn ignorance that makes them think this will all be fine, because they also believe that the Treasury and Bank of England are ‘project fear’ liars and Boris knows what’s what and can be trusted.

So, she survives to live another day.

The problem with the Tories is all the obvious alternatives seem to be worse.

BBC says May survived. Not on site yet.

So, teflon-theresa survives another day.

I want her gone, i’ve wanted her gone for a long long time - she is an authoritarian through and through and a god awful politician who clings to power like a vulture over rotting meat and who refuses to listen to others. Lest we forget under her watch we have some of the worst surveillance laws in any democratic country and on her watch she rolled out those hideous immigration vans. Yet the alternatives to her may be so much worse. We’re all fucked basically…
