What I don’t understand is, when did it become gummy instead of simply gum? I almost thought they were talking about gummi, like the bears, until I watched the clip.
They were played separately and spread out. You see this kind of long-form story-telling in a few Japanese commercials, Softbank has had a ‘storyline’ going for over a decade, and to a lesser degree Boss Coffee has had Tommy Lee Jones as the same alien exploring different jobs and human experiences for almost as long (although neither is quite as strictly sequential as this one)
