Okay fine, he’s a skeevy virtue signaler, and maybe not even that as much as assumed to be that, and I don’t know his motivations for sure but can probably guess at most of them. Also I admittedly know almost nothing about what’s his name, but he gives off serious Nice Guy™ vibes to me.

My reading of that is that even if that is his motivation, it says nothing about his success rate with that strategy.
