Um, is this guy one of those fundamentalists that believes the bible says cutting hair is bad, so they burn it off instead?

Well, when it comes to beards, it says not to round the corners of one’s beard - but that could just mean to trim beards square rather than no trimming. However it doesn’t say “cut” specifically as far as I know, that is, the method to be avoided is not specified, only the result.
