I agree with the OCD “diagnosis.” To me, it looked like the run up to the couch had to be “just right” in some ineffable way.
Then again, the dog’s person wasn’t distressed about it.

Me too. It seems neurotic.
What’s wrong making very, very sure that you’re going to do something exactly right before attempting it?
And no reason diss this doggie. It’s a Beagle so of course it took a little more time.
It’s possible that some of them have run out of older relatives to sell in order to afford veterinary costs for age related conditions. I can’t thin of any other reasons.
