What shocks me is that the docs are not raising hell about this. I do understand not wanting to put yourself in a place where you face prison and financial ruin for doing your job, but do not go quietly!
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
A lot of them are! But itās not getting picked up by mainstream outlets.
Those doctors and their community are reaping the proverbial whirlwind, the seeds having been sown by others: the greed community, the toxic patriarchal community, by far right evangelicals, utterly ruthless hedge fund owners who probably own the facilities they are practicing medicine in, beancounters for those same hedge fund guys, etc.
My take is that those docs may well be in the āworst of all possible bad choicesā world.
I imagine they have multiple exhorbitant loans they are paying down, people who depend on them, their own futures in medicine to look out for, their own malpractice policy underwriters pressuring them, their various boards and associations and credentialing entities sending them intentionally vague or mixed signals, and lastly, a complete lack of clarity of what the current laws are only because the state they are practicing in is likewise unclear.
They are thus screwed six ways to Sunday, to mix two Texas cowboy-isms.
Good find! Thanks for this.
Hopeā¦
The lack of clarity is by design. The only way to be safe is to stay far enough away from the line that you are nowhere near crossing. There are docs fleeing the states that do this. that will be where the whirlwind begins reaping.
Yep. Talked to a dental hygienist a few months ago who, for some reason, decided to mention her plan to get pregnant soon. I asked ādo you have a relationship with an OB already?ā" The answer was no. I told her to start looking now. She needed to be a patient before she got pregnant or She wouldnāt have one for at least half the pregnancy. Shocked face. I said, yeah, a lot of OBs are deciding to retire or leave the state because of the abortion ban. They canāt take care of a woman whose pregnancy is going to kill her. They canāt do their jobs.
Iām hopeful that stuck in her head very hard. And she shared that reality with everyone else she chose to randomly inform of her family planning.
Iām done with pregnancy and deliberately chose a NP GYN (or whatever the proper term). So the OB/GYNs didnāt have a patient who didnāt need the OB part.
This has been a problem in my area, one that seems to be slowly improving with a bit of enforcementā¦
We found that it was sadism and psychopathy was predicting who wants to modify their mufflers, who feels more connected to their vehicle, and they think loud cars are really cool.
āIt seems to be this callous disregard for other peopleās feelings and their reactions. Thatās the psychopathy coming out and itās also they probably get a kick out of enjoying watching people get startled.ā
This doesnāt surprise me at all. Iām sure a similar study of coal rollers would yield the same results. Those car modifications are desirable because then they can be used to hurt other people.
Iāve seen car enthusiasts with beautiful rides. Some were even loud. But that wasnāt the point of it. The coal rollers, the sedans modified to be as loud as.possible, those vehicles arenāt beautiful. No effort has been put into making them beautiful. They are tools to bother other people.
