It occurs to me that people in Russia are probably not as familiar with gay culture as those in the decadent sodomite-loving West, so the homoerotic potential of shirtless Putin photos is obvious to Westerners but not to Russians, who see them as straight (pun intended) expressions of machismo.

I want to be offended by it, but it just nails something quintessential about Trump.
I don’t know, I’m always uncomfortable with them, but I feel like there is something substantial about them.
