No surprise.

No surprise at all. Humiliation and suffering, as usual, are the point.

Or it comes from transphobia, maybe, Propublica?

Nice to see this article getting wider coverage. Creative Commons rocks!

“ Fred Joseph Costanza, 37, of Blackfoot, Idaho, then attacked Jackson, holding her by the hair and punching her in the face more than 10 times, according to the station. She suffered several fractures to her jaw and skull, and was taken to Oregon Health and Science University in Portland for treatment. She said doctors there told her she will need reconstructive surgery, the Newport News Times reports. Friends have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for her medical expenses.”

Good explainer article on TERFs, including some history:

Hands Across the Aisle, an organization that connects radical feminists with anti-LGBTQ groups to campaign against trans rights, said in a statement to Vox. “We watched as doctors enabled irreversible damage to our daughters’ bodies, we sat stunned as boys took away our sisters’ sports opportunities, and we wept as our lesbian friends poisoned their bodies with testosterone in an attempt to appear male.”

Yeah, that quacks like targeted hate speech, or do they also hate women who’ve had mastectomies and chemo for breast cancer?

I’ve seen some TERFs online who deny that intersex exists.

As “Oopsies” go, this is pretty big.

Yeah, this can put people at risk for some actual violence and discrimination, among other things. We really need to start rethinking our growing and deepening dependence on our obviously flawed cyber-security systems, that are proving time and again to not be very secure at all.

This is why I have a huge problem with the idea that religion should be a protected category, or in fact have any association (positive or negative) with temporal law or authority, whatsoever, under any circumstances.

If people want to have a religion, that’s fine, but if they think it entitles them to special treatment, or that it ever justifies them doing anything that wouldn’t be justified otherwise, they’re assholes.

Obviously could have just as reasonably posted this to the misogyny thread.

“The demonstration comes after the school announced in 2017 that all students were required to wear trousers, after ‘concerns’ were raised over the length of skirts and to accommodate transgender pupils.”

Because gender neutral means traditionally masculine- and you’ “accommodating” transgender students by preventing trans girls from wearing skirts.

And yet…

Why not just say that the choices are X pants or Y skirt and Y skirt much be knee length or longer, regardless of your gender. Then boys who want to wear skirts, girls who want to wear pants, agender folks who want to wear skirt or pants, trans people who want to dress with whichever they choose, and all of it a day-to-day choice, are respected, while still maintaining dress code. And reminding students and teachers that harrassment over wardrobe choices is not allowed.

And – by faking it – doing harm to the cause.
