This administration uses “freedom” in the same manner that Soviet block governments used “democratic.” If you see that word, it is safe to read it as it’s opposite.

In a cutting resignation letter sent last month, the employee said the paper “fundamentally not only stands against my own values but also against what I am”. A second trans staff member resigned weeks later, also citing the “harm” they say the newspaper is doing to trans people.

Well of course- *everyone * likes trans people. Though many don’t wish to be seen to do so publicly.
That all said - I did actually meet a trans person who was a ex Hitler Youth member in the 80’s. They had changed vastly since their indoctrination in childhood.

I’d say that she, being a successful writer, should be able to express her thoughts clearly.
Then again, I tried her once [an ‘experiment’ recommended to me] and found her prose to be dead flat and pedestrian. Kind of… embarrassing. Back to the library it went! Maybe she really doesn’t know quite how to say it.
PS: Just my humble (but still irked) opinion. 
Give me back the damned Harvey’s that used to be there. You could have it made just the way you want it : Burger, onion rings, hold the judgements.
