She sounds nice…
It’s not like you to misspell “bigoted asshat”
Where’s the rapture when you need it?
How soon is she up for reelection? In VA it would be this Nov. Unless her constituents are ok with this being their representation, they need to be reminded of this regularly.
So much blame - and precisely zero of these things were why these shootings happened.
Does she have any kind of self awareness at all?
I’m guessing that’s a rhetorical question, but I’ll offer “fuck no!” anyway.
“From the supportive messages that I’ve received, I gather this is a fairly standard thread to women who are trans allies.
“It is a bit of an odd one, to try to shame me for being trans when I don’t think being trans is anything to hide or be ashamed of.“
Lorna Slater had a great response:
“When I responded on Twitter saying that the trans people I’ve met are kind and brave, it is because I think to make the transition, you have to really do some self evaluation and reflection.
You need to really know who you are and accept who you are, and the consequence of doing that work is that you live an examined, meaningful life.
People living that kind of life are brave and kind. I think it is those who lead un-examined lives, who haven’t really accepted themselves, who are frightened and insecure, who are unkind.”
Cue Inigo Montoya.

Why Billionaire Jennifer Pritzker Abandoned Trump After Coming Out as Trans
Colonel Jennifer Pritzker, heir to one of America’s largest fortunes and the world’s first openly transgender billionaire, spent most of her life supporting the GOP. She even voted for Trump. But the president’s hostile policies have made her shut her pocketbook and start speaking out Jennifer Pritzker, photographed at the Pritzker Military Museum & Library, in Chicago. While it’s good that the R’s will lose millions - it shouldn’t have taken purely personal interest to come to the conclusion on where the R’s have been heading and where they already were. If you were considering transitioning for many years prior to acting - that personal interest should have been obvious then.
But denial isn’t a localized phenomenon, I guess.
We can say the same about Caitlyn Jenner, too.
Caitlyn also just isn’t very bright - both were very late transistioners with mountain ranges more opportunities and privilege than other trans women- or anyone else- and both came from highly masculinity defined spheres.
Jennifer put a lot more thought into actions and public presence- and into some public works in areas she’s familiar with. I hope she expands that familiarity and works towards helping trans people more broadly than military service.
There’s a lot of help needed- and that’s a very small slice of the employment world.
Entirely true. The haves in our world have to start reaching out to the have nots if we expect things to improve.
Yep. As a friend says:
“There is a big gap between abandoning Trump and doing positive things.”
America, spreading the ideals of liberty, equality, freedom intolerant everything-phobia around the world…
It’s widely understood that the FRC engineered Trump’s ban on transgender people in the military;
eta: Mich McConnell put him on that commission, not Trump.
