And if you want to meet with me, I’d be more than willing to, but I have some conditions. First of all, you cannot come if you have not watched my special from beginning to end. You must come to a place of my choosing at a time of my choosing, and thirdly, you must admit that Hannah Gadsby is not funny.
Oh yeah, he’s definitely quadrupling down on “being a piece of shit”. You don’t get to slag off an entire group of people, and then say that you’re willing to talk about it in a way that not only reinforces that you refuse not to be in control of the conversation while also shit-talking an ally of that group who is also a member of the broader group you claim you have absolutely no problem with.

Most people have to go through far more rigorous social conduct trainings for their jobs. This guy? Not at all. Not only not at all, but at the slightest sign of pushback he doubles down, triples down, puts out an hour long burst sewer pipe of unfunny toxicity, and then quadruples down on top of that. And now he’s demanding a platform, even if people don’t wanna hear from him, and even if he sucks at his job.
That was what got me the most about his special. It sucked. It just sucked. It wasn’t funny. And if you like the modern style of stand-up that is more insightful and thought provoking and intelligent, it wasn’t any of those things. It even failed to be edgy. He was coasting on name recognition mostly. If some unknown did a set that sucked that hard, they’d get chased off the stage. And now he’s crying that he deserves a platform even though he sucks?
He has officially outlived his usefulness and it’s time for him to go away.
