Shit. Fuck.
Handmaid’s Tale with a side of pedophilia, if history is any indicator.

Ditto here. In fact, we are legally required to grant “presumed emancipation” in matters of sexual health and substance use/abuse. Baffled how this can be done! (Of course, state laws vary by state, so perhaps my bafflement should be put on hold.)
Behold our domination!
Their continued concentration on my athletic prowess is their most foolish mistake!!
*maniacal laugh
Ugh. Those replies. Especially the “get a science advisor”. That trans kids exist, that people are trans, that medical transition isn’t witchcraft… that is science, FARTbrains. Sorry real science doesn’t match up with your narrow-minded piss-head view of the world… perhaps you would like to join the Republican party instead? They seem to have quite the flexible view of fact. It might suit you.
Fuckers.
“Trans rights?”
Really tired of that attitude.
Realistically, as a non-trans person, allowing trans people rights isn’t going to affect me in the slightest. I am still going to have the exact same privileges as before. Nobody’s going to force me to change who I am. Adding trans care into our medical system didn’t even budge the budget needle. It’s like there’s no downside to treating people like people
The only way FART rhetoric makes sense is if you are such a whiny, insecure, mean-girl style bully that you need to have someone to be cruel to. And there is nothing I hate more than bullies.
It only makes sense if you view “rights” as some sort of finite resource. If you get a rigjt, it means there is less for me. Which is absolutely fucking nuts. The other way, I guess, is if you can’t stand having to treat trans people as, you know, people. I suspect that is the actual root of the asshole opinion.
Selfish, Assholes, or Selfish Assholes.
Everybody else treats us fine.
I had to provide data on the change in cost in places that instituted the coverage when we passed it here- literally pennies. And that didn’t include savings because people were getting appropriate care. Or not getting discriminatory rejections for other care.
One trans women got denied coverage for a broken arm at a softball game. The insurance said that she wouldn’t have been playing on the women’s team if she hadn’t transitioned - therefore it’s trans related care - which is excluded in their policy.
Drafted a forty page white paper for City Council in this - I should dig it up and post it.
This comment from responses was the horrifying part for me too:
In the first response they give you advice that could easily be given on a website that is actually helpful: listen, suppress your instinct to respond, establish this is something they can talk to you about and you are worthy of their trust. That’s exactly what you should do. It’s just you should do it because you want to understand your kid and strengthen your relationship with them, not as the first stage of a Machiavellian plan.
I read the whole thing and it is scary that someone put that much care into that. They are teaching people how to effectively fuck with their kids minds.
ETA: I just hope to god that somewhere out there there is a person who followed this site’s advice and had it “backfire” (backfire from the perspective of the site maker). Like they listen - really listen - to their kid and it actually strengthen’s their relationship and they realize it’s more important to love their child than to impose their anti-trans ideology. Most people are not detached monsters capable of intentionally playing a multi-year long game of gaslighting and manipulating their children, and if they really listen to their kids they’ll be affected by it.
You could play transphobia bingo with this atrocity of an article
I’ve just cancelled my Guardian membership. I have thought about doing it before now, but this pushed me to finally do it.
Even if you are a frog.
Who wants to break it to her?
(After all, we’re talking about a creature that --in some species, at least – can literally change its sex. Regardless of what it hatched as).
I’m enraged not just at the bill, but also at the tepid reaction of the opponents of the bill quoted in the article. They say this bill would exclude children from sports. This bill is a license to sexually abuse children - not just trans children either. But of course in addition to being transphobes the sponsors of the bill are misogynists so they don’t really care about girls being abused.
These are the exact kind of arguments white feminists used to make about including black women. It was bullshit then, and remains so today. If you’re not including ALL women, you’re excluding people who are more vulnerable than you. Full stop.
Why is this so very hard for some assholes to wrap their head around?
I assume the criminal implication is not unintended…
They don’t want to make it criminal because then they’d actually have to give you some rights and wouldn’t get strip searched because the classroom mean girl started a rumour about you.
