Actually, most voters in Alabama I talked to, and that was a lot, saw the (R), heard “no socialism,” and pulled the lever for him.
The state is 52% R and 35% Dem. Still, Jones got 39% of the vote. He got more votes in 2020 than in 2017, when he ran against a total whacko.

Too be fair, he is probably so old and out of touch he probably still gets his news from the news paper. If it has been bad weather and you have a lazy delivery person, you could have had a soggy paper you cant read for the last week.

Superbowl coaches only mumble in the first place, but I was supposing that by repeating statements from them, Tuberville managed to pass as Republican rather than Tea Party or ‘Daddy Musk is going to take us all to Mars’ sorts of disqualification from electability. It doesn’t redeem him much! Neither does waiting for news sources to bumble by from FL al AL to hear the news, but it does avail the weather excuse.
