Trump admits he had suspect executed in street by U.S. Marshals: "they didn't want to arrest him"

I think it’s at least plausible that Trump did not specifically give an order to assassinate the guy. Even if this is so, his taking credit for doing so after the fact is for all practical purposes just as bad, as it further creates an environment which encourages such crimes.

Absolutely. “I claim the credit for this!” is just as bad as ordering it as far as outcomes go.

It doesn’t matter who the victim is or what they were accused of, stating “they were deliberately killed,” is a horrible, messy statement that can only make things worse for everyone.

I think we both owe @Brainspore one, actually.

AFAIK, Trump was not in Washington State at the time the marshals were sent in, so even if the local AG were to prosecute, they’d need to coordinate with another jurisdiction. If it were a private citizen ordering the hit, this would be covered pretty squarely by the federal RICO laws.

It was shitty when Obama was ordering drone strikes on US citizens overseas. And it’s just as shitty now. Unless measures are taken, Biden can continue these killings. “Law and Order” means holding those in authority accountable for their actions.

So they’ll have to cooperate with the District of Columbia.

I’m okay with that.

Because he’s using DHS as a national police force, and has been doing so for months.

Was? Get out there, man!

They are still protesting, every night except 4 (there was a pause due to the wildfires and to honor RBG).

The State of Washington should take over the investigation of the shooting, collaborate with Oregon, and subpoena the president.

“Mr. President, did you order the extrajudicial assassination of an American citizen?”

“No? Then why did you say so.”

“So the deputized LEOs assassinated him against your order?”

Right? “Hitler wasn’t even in Poland when…”

As always: Trump is not new.

Almost everything he’s doing is just ye olde traditional America with the volume cranked up and the mask ripped off.

Worse? Yes. UnAmerican? No.

Turning down the volume and putting the mask back on is not an adequate solution.

A better plan if we each had five backup clones waiting in the wings.

Liked. And still…

Joe is a jalapeño. Maybe a pickled one, at his age. Turmp is a Carolina Reaper.

Right? These weren’t Raylan Givens. These were a smattering of local sheriffs and…[checks notes]…a corrections officer?

Shit, even the writers of Justified would have gotten Raylan sent somewhere worse than Harlan after this fiasco.

Excellent food analogy.

I tend to use diseases for my own juxtaposition;

Biden is a low level case of pneumonia, while 45 is stage 4 Cancer.

It’s more than 5 letters long? The lexile score is too high? Too tempting to scream “JEWS!” when trying to say any word that starts with J?

It’s certainly not out of any sort of understanding what actual justice is, or any sort of self awareness that feeding his narcissism/ego isn’t justice…
