I don’t know, for any other president I’d obviously be on board. But Trump has so often contradicted (and even humiliated) official spokespeople that the normal rules might not apply.
I think there would be Trump supporters who would make the “very strange defense of Trump” you cite explicitly.

How would that work? That his lawyers and spokespeople are part of the “Deep State”?
For that to make any kind of sense, Trump would have to be asleep at the wheel. Or telling them to lie? Or any number of other things which undercut their own logic.

I think it’s more likely they would just claim the press is lying about what his lawyers and such said.
She has to wait for him to die in order to get any of the money. And she can’t talk about it and can’t be implicated in his demise.
From their divorce, Ivana got $14 million, a big house and some other stuff in 1991. At the time, Trump was supposedly worth about half a billion, according to publicity. More likely he was at around 100 to 200 million, probably less after all the debt was accounted for. Still, that means Ivana walked away with very little, considering.
I imagine things are even more strict with Melania’s prenup. Doubtful she would get much if she walks away. Also, the prenup must have stuff in it that is totally one-sided, as in, “DJT can screw all the women he wants, but if Melania so much as kisses someone, she is OUT.” Or something to that effect.
I think the Obamas have a better marriage than I would think Trump capable of. So while I think Trump could get away with it I don’t think Obama could. The Obama family is a large part of what is likable about Barrack Obama and that is not the case for Trump. He is appealing for different reasons.

You may have answered a question, but it wasn’t the one I asked.
It would be nice if we could finally get an accurate count of how of those reasons he has, and even better if we saw his tax returns to see how many of the reasons are being loaned to him by Russian and Cypriot banks.
