The next step is Trump prosecuting his political enemies on trumped-up charges. It’s going to happen (assuming it isn’t already, what with the recent announcement that Giuliani is passing information to the Justice Department for action).

Whats the point of all of this if he’s just going to pardon the motherfucker?

I’ll support Bloomberg if he gets the nomination and not one second sooner.

Trump’s horrible behavior does not mean we can’t call out bad behavior from Democrats.

Actually, this isn’t at all unusual for the DOJ to countermand the local USA to recommend a sentence well below the Federal Sentencing Guidelines for defendants who (1) did not cooperate, (2) went to trial (3) were convicted and (4) continued to refuse to cooperate. Off the top of my head, I can think of…(searches for any examples of it happening)…essentially no examples of the DOJ doing this.

I’m also in the camp that any progressive who doesn’t vote for the Dem nominee is more interested in their own vote remaining pure than what’s in the country’s best interest. But c’mon, Blooomberg didn’t say something bad, he did something bad. Quite bad.

I’ll say it again: RIP “the American Century” 1917-2017.

It is folly to think the US is still who the US imagines itself to be.

If I had to put money on a Fox News spin, I would guess “It was the original recommendation of 7 to 9 years that was unusual, biased and heinous, this was just Trump bringing it back to something reasonable!” I’ll take my money in small bills to tip my post-apocalypse wasteland sherpa.

Good name for a band.

A pardon is too dangerous. Stone could be subpoena’ed as a witness against Trump for the crimes he was convicted for. He can’t plead the 5th Amendment. So Stone either ends up testifying against Trump or goes back to prison for new perjury charges.

i wonder if they understand that a call from the president in common parlance is “contact with the white house”. you don’t have to, you know, go out and actually touch the building.
