Um, no. He didn’t pay contractors long before the bankruptcies. He just doesn’t pay contractors, architects, ANYONE that he has a signed contract with.

I’ve wondered that about the EPRDF – they’ve long since outlasted the regime that they overthrew. After 26 years (as of next month), is it still revolutionary? It definitely isn’t very democratic. It’s most certainly a “front,” all right…
Similarly, I’ve wondered about the PRI: institutional and revolutionary, they get to have it both ways!

The administration’s fascist nature is really showing when he does this.
The US was a convenient - and very real - boogeyman for him (and the revolution was continually under threat from the US, and thus an ongoing process). Trump has nothing but paper enemies he’s made himself. I’m not sure if that’s more dangerous or not…
Violence at/after a rally seems a very real possibility - although it felt more likely before he was elected; now such acts are an admission that the president they’ve elected is powerless, imcompetent. Now I’m fearing more of a “Charlie Hebdo” type situation, created by Trump, along with all the racist hate crimes he’s inspired.

HRC and Obama are both receiving that treatment and it’s reprehensible. But it’s also abundantly obvious that trump is pulling some third-grade-level character assassination.
Trump: “Yea I brushed my teeth. What? The toothbrush is dry? WELL THAT’S BECAUSE OBAMA REPLACED THE WET ONE WITH THE DRY ONE.”
Congress: “WE NEED HEARINGS ON TOOTHBRUSH THIEVES!!!”

Which is exactly why they have to pretend to be outraged about Benghazi, emails, etc. It gives them the pretense that their reasons for hating her are in some way political and not based on gender or cultural prejudices.

Character assassination implies that he’s making accusations that are causing people to change their opinions of Obama and HRC. What he’s doing is lying as a kind of formality that satisfies the prerequisites for Congress and the media to get distracted from Russia (or whatever else), and for his followers to wave their torches and pitch forks without openly declaring their bigotry. They say “lock her up” because they can’t say “lynch liberal judges.”
I’m pretty sure this twitterstorm was on BB at some point—Elliott Lusztig channeling Hannah Arendt on the language of fascists. Read their statements not as truth claims, but as declarations of intent.

I have had multiple exchanges with Trump supporters who insist that Constitutional Law is simple, and they know much more than any Librul judge who has decades of experience. How does one respond to a stupid person who insists he’s an expert? I invoked Dunning-Kruger, but that was just Fancypants Librul educated stuff.
