Trump has COVID-19

Just like how Trump suspended his campaign out of respect for Hillary when she got pneumonia?

Well, I’ll certainly be able to tell you if they’re any good at enforcing it personally…

Wait, you mean they’ve had the power to effectively moderate speech that doesn’t align with societal norms this whole time!?!

Bless his heart, and yours too for saying that!

Here’s a picture of John Scalzi’s Schadenfreude pie. Dark, Bitter, Sweet, Well-deserved.
Meanwhile, Trump’s up at Walter Reed Hospital, getting the antibodies that may help a lot but aren’t a vaccine. And aren’t likely to be available in the quantities it would take to treat everybody who gets it, because the pandemic got too big under his watch and he encouraged people not to wear masks.

I may be starting to suspect that Dems still don’t understand they’re on the losing side of a campaign of asymmetrical warfare…

I’m sure Biden’s ‘cease fire’ wont last long.

Taking them down at all was for the appearance of respectability.

It is like watching Jerry Springer but there is no Steve to break up the discord. The audience loves the animosity.

It would be a shame if she was permanently incapacitated from viability as a SCOTUS justice. /s

He has pulled negative ads, which actually makes sense. Last thing Biden wants to do is generate sympathy for Il Douche.

It’s a bit easier here in the US because we don’t have the custom of buying rounds, so there’s less organizing required.

So how long until they spin this as “The press is trying to murder the president!”

You know they are re-writing a bunch of sketches right now.

There are multiple questions wrapped in there -

  1. What happens to him as sitting 2017-2020 President,
  2. What happens to the election, if he dies or gets incapacitated before it.
  3. What happens if he dies after winning the Electoral College but before inauguration
  4. What happens if he wins but gets incapacitated after inauguration

For 1 and 4, the 25th Amendment’s pretty clear - VP takes over, and it the President isn’t coming back, appoints a new VP.
For 2, my guess is that Trump loses outright, or if not, as jaf said, the Electoral College handles it, and probably a few votes go to Biden or Melania or Romney or Q and it doesn’t fail over to the House to decide.
For 3? The 25th didn’t quite cover all the bases. My guess is that if he’s just mostly incapacitated, he hangs on through inauguration and hands it over to Pence per 25th, but if he’s dead, somebody takes it to the Supreme Court. And then we’ve got N+1 problems.

== Somebody else’s question - is Trump taking HCQ/bleach/etc.? Nope, he’s getting the good experimental antibodies. Probably won’t die. He’ll almost certainly get steroids, now that they’ve found those also reduce risk of death by about 1/3. And he and Jared bogarted enough ventilators they’ll have a spare one for him.
