You’ll also owe me a dollar.
I only have the one in my purse. Come on…
I’m starting to wonder if that Borat sequel is going to be released as planned. It’s got to be pretty risky to release a movie that relentlessly mocks both the President and his response to the Covid-19 pandemic while Trump is potentially near death’s door (either side of the door).
Suspend the campaign? Naw. Jiggle it around a bit. But not stop. He needs to keep at it. It’s all remote anyways.
In light of his entering care at Walter Reed, I hereby retract this part…
… still creeped out by the possibility of…
… despite everyone’s best guess and Biden saying today he and Jill tested negative.
I just watched the South Park Pandemic Special last night. The episode title is supposedly referring to a special sale that Randy Marsh is having at his marijuana farm. The subject matter hits painfully close to home at times and throughout the episode Randy’s wife repeatedly asks him if it’s appropriate to have a special in the midst of a deadly pandemic. He insists that with everyone stressed out by world events it’s just what the people need right now. YMMV I’d say that for the most part they succeed in threading the needle with the humor. Maybe the Borat movie can do the same.
It turns out last night Jimmy Kimmel made a joke about Trump having coronavirus based on how he looked/sounded at a rally. Watching that clip was the nail in the coffin for me that this was real. If this was a lie it would be a crazy lie Trump just came up with in the middle of the night, not something that people helped him plan by making him up to look and sound (voice makeup?) sick at a rally. I didn’t discount it completely before, but yeah this is not a hoax.
It could be viewed as an assassination attempt against the US president by Donald Trump.
Completely off topic but that’s a very cool purse. Where’d you get it?
seems very odd to be going to the hospital so quickly.
I wonder if they will ever figure out who was the white house patient zero?
You left out a scenario I’m unsure of:
What happens if he survives election day (in November) but dies or is incapacitated before the election in December, when all the electors cast their votes. That’s where faithless elector laws get all sorts of fun and we’ll see the Republicans have a hell of a time figuring out who the faithless electors should vote for.
Got a link?
I’m not quite full on schadenfreude pie yet.
Also, some thoughts from John Scalzi;
And to be honest, does anyone even think the Trump family is “together”? I imagine it is a lot like “Succession” without the wit.
It’s just like Biden being a “radical socialist.” That is to say, it’s not moderate, it’s a reactionary extremist case.
i mean i get it, but if this doesn’t prove the point that denying the science and doing absolutely nothing to help stop the spread of covid-19 has a cost… nothing will
Do me a solid then, and edit your comment to double quote it; so it doesn’t look like that naive-ass line came from me.
I guess we’ll get to see how this herd immunity stuff works now, huh?
Guess she should have quit sooner.
Good point! Looks like they’ve removed one feasible defense when they get sued for promulgating hate speech…
Yeah, we don’t have a cure for Covid-19. We have all sorts of methods to help you fight it off, and keep you alive longer if things go badly, but in the end it’s up to your body beating the virus – or not.
In their defense, they’re still apparently really bad at handling it in any sort of automated manner, 'cause I still ain’t suspended yet.
