Yes. That was a parade of plastic boats. If they had used one for the construction of that desk, it would have looked like this:
Not enough of us Canadians here to get this…
One of the secretaries answers it.
Well, Trump ain’t no student of ancient culture…
I can’t get over how surreal the original image looks. It’s like one of those vaguely disturbing hyperreal paintings that’s just a little off, and you’re unable to verbalize why it’s messing with your head.
Thank fuck for them!
Windsor, ONT’s channel 9 comes in fine across the Detroit River, so I was a big fan as a little girl
The Petulant Desk FTW.
The flip side: I grew up in Windsor in the 60s, pre-cable. Channel 9 was the only Canadian channel we had, with massive availability of content from Detroit (with a couple more, badly, from Toledo). Oh yes: in the 70s the Canadian network “Global” (!) was launched, including a lot of American content: Windsor got some coverage from a repeater outside town, but many of their shows were blacked out much of the time, as the Detroit stations had first rights on those shows. When the repeater broadcast site accidentally burned down, they didn’t bother to rebuild it.
