Horrors of the Nazi regime aside, recall that those were the generals who LOST the war. The generals who won the war were the ones selected for competence rather than blind obedience.

If, by some terrible chance he’s elected in November and becomes President again, this may turn out to be one of the most ironic things he’s ever wished for.

He deserves the kind of generals Hitler had when he was in the bunker in April and May of 1945.

If only this was 10-20 years ago and we would immediately have a Downfall of this…

Does he mean the sort of German Generals who spent their time plotting Hitler’s overthrow?

Assassination, wasn’t it?

Note that a group of those generals tried a couple of times to kill Hitler, as his meddling was actually hampering their war effort.

Edit: as others have noted.

When all the trans people and queers and Jews and people of colour were telling you he’s the kind of trouble we’ve seen before, we fucking meant it.

Basically, so blissfully incompetent that the main guy has the absolutely final say on everything even when they try to stop them from making serious mistakes?

(Which is one of the main reasons why the allies stop attempting to assassinate Hitler because Hitler was one of Hitler’s greatest enemies)

Trump said this to “his” generals. The generals, who actually know some history, unlike Trump, then informed him that Hitler’s generals tried to kill him. Apparently that shut Trump up.

So John Kelly, et al, who were in Trump’s cabinet didn’t see the need to do jack shit until now? Couldn’t they have kicked his ass out of office after he tried to steal the election on January 6? We wouldn’t be in this mess right now if they had acted in good faith then.

For the record, John Kelly was already Trump’s former Chief of Staff by January 6 and publicly supported using the 25th Amendment to remove him from office after the events of that day.

The kind who lost?

That’s the far right’s favorite type of general, judging by the statues they admire!
