Trump impeached — abuse of power & obstruction of congress

That depends on what kind of deal was cut, and if they abide by the terms.

We have the dumbest Republicans down here in Texas! I… honestly don’t know how to feel about that.

I’d wager good money on this one. There are three other Republicans right now; I don’t see that the GOP voters there choosing a guy who votes with Trump less than 10% of the time over any one of them.

Imagine choosing THIS MOMENT in the history of our nation to declare “actually on second thought the Republican Party is the party that best aligns with my personal values.”

More over the Dems in the most Republican weighted, at risk districts all voted in favor. If they think they can survive after voting to impeach. What the hell is Van Drew’s excuse? His district is only rated R+1 by Cooks, and he won in 2018 by around 7 points. Trump only took the district by 4, it’s been fairly blue in terms of presidential vote otherwise. His district is just outside Philly. It seems to be considered a tough district cause there was a Republican incumbent parked in there 25 years.

And this is his first god damned term.

He has 3 Democratic primary challengers. And there are 3 Republicans in the field. I’m willing to bet he’s concerned about those primary challenges. He traded a no vote while still a Democrat for a clear primary path. I’d put money on it.

Or perhaps a cushy deal on the other side of the street? Some stink think tanks, a few board positions, lobbyist for horrible people, etc.

I am always glad when congress gives me something to be proud of. This is only the beginning I dare hope. The way I hear young people talk about crazy 45 Drumpf he is going to face a long hard road from those he wronged. Those years from know I can at least warmly recall my legislator was on the right side of history with this vote. Good show. Wake up republicans, WAKE UP!!

Plus, she never mentioned Tulsi by name; Tulsi just heard the accusation and assumed that it was about her. Make of that what one will.

There are people on this very forum who used to say similar things about Pelosi, as part of their argument why she would never support impeachment.

Sacrificing long term viability for short term gains, most likely. I’ll make you a side bet that he loses in 2020.

It’s good to see there’s no war on Impeachmas in these parts. We must fight those atheists who insist on “Happy Presidential Downfall Day”.

question: is there some influencer out there suggesting that we cant show joy over impeachment. it seems an unnatural thing to suggest. i get that people in congress need to act solemn to a degree but I’m sure separating from england was a solemn decision and we celebrate that with fireworks and upbeat marching band music. i have a few friends on social media pushing the “no joy” angle but I have to say I’m thrilled to see a tiny bit of justice every once in a while. who is telling people we shouldn’t be joyful?

I dunno, but fuckem. Why?

THREE LONG GODDAMNED DARK HOPELESS YEARS AND NOW THIS RAY OF LIGHT.

That’s why. It’s been far too long without some justice or retribution towards this evil fool. As @Melizmatic said above: hopefully it hastens him towards his ignominious end. It cannot come soon enough.

The people who understand this isn’t a joyful moment, for the same reasons people weren’t joyfully whooping it up when Nixon’s helicopter took off. We’re relieved the Constitution is working the way it should, but this isn’t a moment to celebrate.

Nah, fuck that. This is a moment to celebrate. Let Congress be all solemn and stoic.
